Farming in a cooperative

Is slowly becoming possible even without a large garden. All year round, whatever the weather, we can have access to local produce without pesticides. And this is thanks to the technology – hydroponic cultivation.

Plants can be grown without soil on a water-based medium using a water containing, among other things, nutrients and the right lighting. This is also feasible with vertical farms, for which we do not need much space. You can read more in a blog about vertical farms.

Currently, the technology still has many drawbacks, including the high cost of energy consumption and the requirement for specialist knowledge. However, it is likely that this will change quickly. Already in Gliwice, the first restaurant in Poland with its own hydroponic crops has been established.

And their designer was Paulina Grabowska, who creates this type of innovation in the NAS-DRA Conscious Design studio.

So who knows, maybe our co-op will be agriculturally self-sufficient 🙂 .
